Welcome to this week's THIRSTY podcast. I am Pastor Michael Zarling.

And I'm Pastor Nathan Klusmeyer.

And we're still in the theme of identity revealed. And last week we looked at the Beatitudes where Jesus calls us blessed. Today, now, we are to bring that blessing to others as Jesus calls us to be salt and light. And so Nathan, our hymns that we're singing at Lord of Lords is, uh, an epiphany hymn, "O God from God, O Light from Light." Uh, always a strong hymn for the hymn of the day, "Thy Strong Word." "Arise and Shine in Splendor." And then I always love, "I Want to Walk as a Child of the Light."

Wow. We only have, we're only... The only one we're doing that is the same is Thy Strong Word. Um, otherwise, it's "Lord, 'tis not that I did choose you." Uh, Church of-

Why did you choose that hymn?

I don't remember. I did these plans, like, six months ago.

I don't remember why I chose that one.

I don't...

Uh, Church of God, Elect and Glorious, and then May We Your Precepts, Lord, Fulfill.

Okay. Yeah, and the-

I mean, sometimes, sometimes I pick hymns going, "Oh, that's a good hymn we haven't sung in a while."

Oh. Yeah, we sang a hymn last week that's in the supplement. Uh, it's a paraphrase of the Beatitudes, and I thought it was just really hard to sing it, 'cause it's, it's not a regular meter. And, uh, we, we already don't have, uh, very good singers here, and it was just tough. And then, uh, someone emailed me, said, "Oh, that was a really good hymn. Can we sing that again?" I was going... I, I haven't replied yet, and I'm hoping it, you know, say, "No, I, I don't really wanna" "- sing that one again."

Still not as bad as that time I picked Luther's, Luther's version of, what is it? The, the Creed.

Yeah. Yeah, yeah.

That we sang that one year for... I'm like, yeah, we're never singing that one again.

Yeah, 'cause I, I even wrote you a note.

Yep.

I, I said, "I don't even wanna sing this one in heaven." It was so tough.

Nope.
