They examine what it means for Christians to answer their doubts with Spirit-inspired faith. We first study 1 Kings 19:9-18 and ask: “Why might pastors feel spiritually exhausted and isolated like Elijah? What are some warning signs for a pastor facing ‘spiritual burnout’?”
Then we discuss Matthew 14:22-33 where Peter walks on water. But the moment Peter takes his eyes off Jesus and focuses on the terrifying environment around him, his faith gives way to doubt, and he begins to sink. When the waves grew larger in Peter’s mind, Jesus grew smaller. We and the disciples learn that when trouble comes into our lives, we should focus on Christ. Jesus is bigger than any problems that threaten to drown us.
