MWUTT 37: Is Political Violence Ever Justifiable?

Welcome to this episode of Men Who Understood the Times. And we have some new men here because Josh is on sabbatical right now, and Andy's who knows where on his cruise. Uh, so we've got, uh, Peter and Zach. And so Zach, if you wanna talk about, uh, where you, where you serve, and then you plug your new podcast too.

Yep. So I am, uh, Pastor Zachary Seman from St. Peter's Lutheran in El Dorado, Wisconsin. If you have no idea where that is, it's a little town in between Fond du Lac and Oshkosh. And, uh, uh, Mike has so graciously aro- allowed me to, uh, shamelessly plug the podcast that myself as well as my friends are planning to create, uh, called Iron & Clay. Um, we don't have a definite date as of right now for when our first episode will air, but, uh, it's hopefully going to be within the next two or three weeks that we'll get that first episode out. So you can search for, um, uh, you know, uh, there are a f- a few things on YouTube called Iron & Clay. I found out when I looked there. But if you look up, like, @ironandclay-1517, that'll be it. Um, and, uh, our first episode will be talking about, um, is society becoming over-professionalized, and the importance of cultivating useful skills, uh, useful and, and hobbies. Yeah, fantastic. And I'm a big proponent of theology and then applying it as you are, and your brothers when it comes to sanctification. And so Peter, why don't you tell our listeners where you serve, and then about your huge podcast thing that you're doing- ... Raised with Jesus.

Yeah. I, uh, currently serve at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Maumee, uh, which is Toledo, Ohio. Um, and we've got the Raised with Jesus podcast. Um, that podcast itself has been, um, about eight and a half years, um, or so. And, um, the, the idea is, you know, 10 minutes every day where the life of Jesus meets yours. And, uh, you see and hear one of our main contributors here, uh, Pastor Mike Zarling. Um, he's got a couple episodes a week that he contributes as well as a couple of other guys. So it's, um, thankfully, I think it's proven to be a blessing and our, our listenership, uh, continues to, you know, grow nice and slowly. Um, but I mean, what that says to me is that people find value. So, uh, if you've found value with it, share it with a friend.
